Tourism - quality services
Learner’s knowledge and understanding of the development of Glasgow (and regeneration in particular) will make them more aware of the breadth and depth of information available and of the needs and wants of tourists visiting the city centre. They will provide a service to evaluate the product as customers, on behalf of the open top bus company (and agreed with company), collating and feeding back their findings to the business managers.
Broad Outcomes of learning
• Subject knowledge of local area gained and enhanced
• Develop employability skills communicating, co-operating and contributing to the information gained on the tour
• Confidence of working independently from teacher-led lessons demonstrated through the research, tour, questioning and completion of the leaflet
• Pupils take responsibility for their learning through organising and planning the trip - forms in, cash required and any special clothing required (winter jackets, scarves etc)
• Pupils have developed enterprising skills identified as 4 capacities of CfE
