Sharing a drink with a dinosaur!

This project will develop a knowledge and understanding of the ‘water cycle’ by applying this knowledge in a real life context. Young people will work in teams with the task of researching the water cycle and producing an informative, themed wall display, as well as individually producing a creative writing piece. The title will be ‘Sharing a drink with a dinosaur’.

Broad Outcomes of learning

• Subject knowledge of the water cycle, gained and enhanced
• Enterprising skills improved by developing creativity, confidence, positive attitude; increasing motivation to learning; taking responsibility and making decisions; consideration of others through group work and discussion
• Developed employability skills: communication, planning, organisation, time management, researching, co-operating, presenting
• Confidence of working independently from teacher-led lessons demonstrated through successful completion of short story and wall display
• Pupils take responsibility for their learning through making decisions about what information is important to include in the story and display
• Pupils have developed 4 capacities of CfE

• Relevance of how curriculum topic on materials from the Earth is relevant to pupils lives and how this subject knowledge is put into practice in a real situation
