Reclaiming land – community green space

From their learning about communities and services, the pupils will be given a brief to carry out:
‘An area of land has become available in four areas of the Clyde; Glasgow Harbour, Govan, Clydebank and Renfrew. This land must be kept as an outdoor space and used for community purposes. Develop an idea for this land.’ In small groups pupils will choose an area. They will gather information on the demographic of the residents and the local area. From this they will develop a purpose and plan a community space to be used by the local residents. They will produce a plan, name and concept and materials advertising the space to the local residents. This will be pitched to a panel of judges.
