Journalism: writing a newspaper article
This task will develop a knowledge and understanding of industry – journalism and report writing, applying this knowledge in a real life context. Young people will work individually to complete an article for inclusion in the school newsletter.

• Subject knowledge gained and enhanced through the presentation and reporting.
• Enterprising skills enhanced – application of knowledge in a real situation through accurately recording and reporting on the event like journalists
• Develop employability skills: sorting out the information, planning and organising the article and presenting it in its best form for assessment
• Confidence of working independently from teacher-led lessons demonstrated by pupil’s ability to complete task using the guidelines given by the teacher
• Pupils take responsibility for their learning through making decisions about the content of the article and adding their name to it at the end
• Learners have developed enterprising skills identified as 4 capacities of CfE
