Health day

Giving young people the opportunity to develop their self esteem by understanding and creating a health day for the school. This will promote healthy living and eating and raise awareness of the dangers of not living an active lifestyle. The health day will offer learners the opportunity to experience activities and find one that interests them. This can be extended to a ‘get fit’ campaign of ‘take part fund raising activity.

Broad Outcomes of learning

• Subject knowledge gained and enhanced on healthy options for an active lifestyle
• Enterprising skills improved by developing their motivation to learning, their creativity and self awareness
• Developed employability skills: Planning, organising, researching, co-operating and reporting
• Confidence of working independently and in groups from teacher-led lessons demonstrated by completing activity tasks
• Pupils take responsibility for their learning through ideas and planning of the heath day
• Learners have developed 4 capacities of CfE
