Glasgow Crossrail campaign launched

13 March 2007

Strathclyde Partnership for Transport has launched a campaign to secure support for the Glasgow Crossrail project.

Their new website contains details of the project and its benefits.

As well as improving the effectiveness of the Glasgow Airport Rail Link and connections between different corners of the city region, Crossrail brings key benfits to the Clyde Waterfront area. The project will provide additional stations serving waterfront communities near the city centre.

A third Glasgow city centre station will be created at Glasgow Cross improving access to the east of the city centre and boosting the Merchant City. A new station will be built serving the Gorbals and Laurieston. Finally an interchange with the subway at West Street will serve the new residential community of Tradeston.

Please visit the website and add your support to this important project. Read more on our Crossrail project page.

Clyde Waterfront is a strategic partnership of the Scottish Government, Scottish Enterprise, Glasgow City Council, Renfrewshire Council and West Dunbartonshire Council.
