Anti-smoking campaign

After examining the dangers of smoking and examining the issue in a local context, the class will run their own an anti-smoking campaign, creating a variety of resources which will reinforce the anti-smoking message.

Broad Outcomes of learning

• Subject knowledge of health gained and enhanced
• Enterprising skills enhanced – application of knowledge in a real situation through the creation and running of a campaign
• Develop employability skills - communication, planning, organisation, time management, researching, presenting, analysing, sourcing, negotiating, co-operating, contributing, presenting
• Confidence of working independently from teacher-led lessons demonstrated through the pupils’ taking ownership of the campaign
• Learners take responsibility for their learning through making decisions about the campaign’s content and presentation
